Insurer reaches the finals for Health & Wellbeing

Friday, November 02, 2018

Health-on-Line was proudly featured as one of the three finalists of the Employee Health & Wellbeing category at the Dorset Business Awards last night in recognition of our emphasis on a fitter, healthier and happier workforce.

Taking place at the Bournemouth International Centre, over 40 local businesses attended the awards, each nominated for one of the thirteen categories available this year. Health-on-Line faced strong competition from other finalists, Organix and the Bournemouth Royal and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, for the category title which seeks to recognise a business that empowers and supports its people in their health and wellbeing needs. Organix were eventually crowned champions of the award for their comprehensive health and wellbeing programme that they undertake.

Various initiatives have taken place at Health-on-Line this year that supported our entry in this category, with particular focus being given from a management perspective on this throughout 2018, as the company realises the importance of this evolving area. Vicky Young, Head of HR comments,

“It has been clear to us this year that as a company we need to adapt the way we support our staff, as the work and social parameters blend more and more. We’ve been proud of introducing initiatives such as free Diabetes testing within the office, as well as health checks, mindfulness sessions and flu jabs for our staff. We’ve also worked closely with our affiliated charity this year, Dorset Mind, to roll out training across the business on how to maintain positive Mental Health, and raise awareness in an aim to reduce the stigma surrounding this. Ultimately we believe a healthier and happier workforce is the key to success within our business”.

Health-on-Line place an importance on this, with many staff accessing the onsite gym in their lunch break, whilst others take advantage of their up to 40% discount on nationwide chain, Nuffield.  Staff have also been encouraged throughout the year to take part in one of Health-on-Line’s many healthy charity initiatives, resulting in three teams taking part in the Bournemouth Marathon to raise money for Dorset Mind & Macmillan Caring Locally, as well as over 40 people participating in our annual Football Tournament.

Mike Dalby, Managing Director of Health-on-Line states,

“As a private medical insurer we engage with Health & Wellbeing on a day to day basis with our customers, and therefore understand the importance this emphasis plays in our society today. We believe that making health and wellbeing integral at Health-on-Line internally will ensure we have an engaged and motivated workforce, enabling us to focus on delivering great customer service, and therefore an all-round better organisation”.

Customer Reviews

  • “Excellent customer service. The Heath plan was catered to my needs and requirements. I'm very impressed with the low price. Had I known how affordable health insurance was before I'd have taken it out years ago.”
