L&D Business Partner description

Here at Health-on-Line we’re passionate about empowering our people, to drive their own development and growth through learning. This role will play a key part in driving our focus on creating a learning culture throughout the business, from our Sales teams to our IT department to name just a couple. You will be identifying learning gaps and helping us future-proof our organisation; whilst supporting our individual’s personal development. The role will give you the opportunity to play a senior role within the team, whilst fully integrating yourself into the business, by building strong relationships with our managers.

2019 is a big year for Learning and Development at Health-on-Line! This year will see the department grow, as we transition from a Training Team to an L&D function that’s passionate about learning. We will be launching exciting new technologies and exploring innovative ways of making learning relevant, accessible and effective.

The team already prides itself on delivering comprehensive inductions and refresher training, as well as regulatory content and product updates, with a focus on making sessions fun and engaging.  We want to see our offerings grow considerably as we facilitate learning opportunities that meet not just our business goals, but the development goals of our people.

As a team we all work hard and love what we do. We’re looking for someone who shares that passion and our core values of team spirit, customer focus, innovation, passion and integrity. You’ll be working with Jannine who has been with Health-on-Line for almost 8 years and has an impressive understanding of how our business works, as well as Nina, James and Sarah who bring a wealth of training knowledge and experience of delivering fun and engaging training solutions.

What will I be doing?

You will be working within the business to identify learning needs and facilitate learning solutions. In addition you will be given the opportunity to get involved with a number of key L&D Projects. These will vary throughout the year and depend on the demands of the business but will likely include:

  • Assisting in designing, implementation and facilitation of our new Leadership Development Programme. This will focus on providing our managers, and our managers of the future, with learning opportunities which educate and empower them to become great leaders. You will be helping to build clear career paths and supporting our people as they embark on their development journeys.
  • Taking a leading role as our Learning Engagement champion, to include assisting with the communication and administration of our learner engagement programs. This will include preparation of results and working with business managers to identify learner needs, ensuring action plans are agreed and met. This will also require you to facilitate some of the learning solutions. When you spot learning needs and gaps, you will be working with the training team to bridge these, as well as contributing to our L&D strategy planning using your observations.
  • You will be playing a senior role in the delivery of projects within the team; we will be working to tight deadlines with big long term goals. Your role will be to ensure collaboration with our business and at times take the lead in ensuring there are no obstacles that the team cannot overcome.

The team work 35 hours per week, usually 9am-5pm.

What skills and experience are we looking for?

  • A passion for Learning and Development, with knowledge of the hot topics and new ideas in the L&D community
  • Ability to maintain a balanced focus that meets both our commercial needs and the needs of our learners
  • A proven track record of identifying, planning and implementing L&D initiatives
  • A proven track record of facilitating training solutions aimed at management level
  • Ability to challenge constructively to help the business reach the best learning outcomes
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Proactive and organised
  • Effective in diary and time management

  • Previous experience in implementing Leadership Programs
  • Previous experience of working in an Agile L&D environment
  • Experience of facilitating social learning environments
  • Experience of designing digital learning content
