Health-on-Line employees serve up strawberries and cream for charity

On Friday 10th July Health-on-Line employees were invited to get into the spirit of Wimbledon by taking part in a tennis-themed charity day to raise money for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

The Company’s Charity Panel took to each floor of its Bournemouth-based offices to serve up scrumptious strawberries & cream and sell special ‘Wimbledon ballot’ style tickets for a chance to win an array of fantastic prizes. The day itself was a great success with the Health-on-Line team managing to raise an impressive £973 for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

Fiona Carter, member of the Health-on-Line Charity panel explains,

“It was fantastic to see employees get into the spirit of the day and give generously to a charity that could help any one of us in the future. The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance receive no direct government funding which is why we felt it was important to show our support. The event certainly got everyone excited for the Murray V Federer match and was extremely successful in raising vital funds for such a worthy cause.”

The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance provide relief to the sick and injured via its air ambulance service. Since its launch in 2000 the Charity has attended thousands of incidents. Its operational costs are over £2 million a year and they can attend up to 9 incidents per day with each costing around £2,500. This initiative sits under the Company’s ongoing corporate social responsibility programme to support the local community and charities throughout 2015 with Health-on-Line organising events throughout the year to raise vital funds for local charities Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, Mosaic and Hope For Food as well as supporting youth community projects such as Shore Ideas and sponsoring under 9’s Football Team Dexters.

“My Personal Account Manager was so helpful and polite, answered all our questions and gave us time to make up our minds without pressure, which is important. He always called at the time he said he would, which for me was very professional. He was a pleasure to deal with.”
