Health-on-Line staff to take on the Bournemouth Bay Run challenge
Private medical insurer Health-on-Line are putting their fitness to the test and have entered two teams made up of staff into this year’s Bournemouth Bay Run, for local charities Dorset Mind and Macmillan Caring Locally.
As part of the company’s continuing support and investment into the local area, Health-on-Line is the proud sponsor of this year’s Bournemouth Bay Run. In association with the British Heart Foundation, the run will take place on Sunday 8th April 2018 and will see runners participating in a Half Marathon, 10k, 5k or a 1k Children's Fun Run. All of which will be taking place against the picturesque backdrop of Bournemouth’s famous seven-mile stretch of golden beaches.
Staff from its office in Bournemouth have been keen to get involved and do their bit for charity which has led to the insurer entering two teams to take part; Half-on-Line and the Health-on-Line Athletes. With each team member having different reasons for taking part, as well as varying levels of fitness and individual goals, they all share in Health-on-Line’s dedication to local wellbeing and its family culture.
Made up of employees from its sales, customer service and compliance departments, the Half-on-Line team will be taking on the Half Marathon at this year’s Bournemouth Bay Run. The team will be raising sponsorship for local mental health charity, Dorset Mind, with all donations going to its mental health support services.
Liam Dunn, member of Half-on-Line, said:
‘For my New Year’s resolution I decided to set myself a personal challenge and the Bournemouth Bay Half Marathon seemed the perfect fit. I’m raising money for Dorset Mind, a local mental health charity that do brilliant work in the community helping those affected by mental health issues. Mental health has affected a number of my close friends and family members and is an area that is hugely underfunded, so any additional help and support is needed.’

As well as the half marathon, Health-on-Line employees will also be taking part in the 10k, the Health-on-Line Athletes. Comprising of staff from its finance, membership, compliance, sales, claims and IT departments, the team will be running on behalf of Macmillan Caring Locally, with all donations going to the Charity's palliative care and support services.
Laura Perry, member of the Health-on-Line Athletes, said:
‘I wanted to take part in the Bournemouth Bay run to challenge myself. However, raising money for Macmillan Caring Locally is something that is very important to me as I lost my Mum to breast cancer. It’s so rewarding to try to help others.’

With both teams battling it out to see who can raise the most for their chosen charity, so far its Half Marathon team Half-on-Line have raised £330 for Dorset Mind whilst the 10 k team, Health-on-Line Athletes have raised £262 for Macmillan Caring Locally. To help them reach their targets, Health-on-Line has pledged to match whatever total each team raises for charity.
As part of its sponsorship, Health-on-Line will have a stand within the Bournemouth Bay Run Race Village located at Pier Approach, just yards from the finish line. There will be plenty of free giveaways throughout the day with representatives on hand to talk about the company’s health insurance products as well as its ambitions to help you stay healthy. Health-on-Line staff will also be on hand to man a hydration station - located on Southbourne’s beach promenade - where they’ll be providing some much-needed water and cheer for participants.
